Tens & units, + 10 and + 9 – Year 2 homework

So far this half term in year 2, we have been partitioning numbers into tens and units to help us understand place value and we’ve been adding 10 to given numbers.

We learnt that when adding 10 to a number we just need to jump down a square on the hundred square.

We also found a quick way of adding 9 to a number – add 10 first (by jumping down a square) then take away 1 (by jumping back 1 square).
